New! RoamRig Plumbing Upgrades for Revels

The RoamRig Plumbing Upgrade has been in the works for a long time and we are ridiculously excited to offer it to Revel owners! Right now, plumbing upgrades are available exclusively at RoamRig HQ in Connecticut. Soon, RoamRig plumbing will also be available with select dealers around the country.

This plumbing upgrade is simple to install. The stainless steel hoses are clearly labeled and are already the perfect length. And all fittings come pre-crimped. Our idea of a perfect plumbing project is one that requires 0 trips to the hardware store, so that’s what we’ve created.

Is this for all Revels?

How how much time does installation take?

At RoamRig, installs can be done in one day. Installation time at dealers may vary.

What gets upgraded?

This is a total tear-out and overhaul! RoamRig plumbing completely replaces all freshwater components in the stock plumbing system. We use brass fittings, braided stainless steel hoses wherever possible and minimal connections. The upgrade features a custom valve that allows one simple port to do all of these functions:

• City water: Use a connection to a pressurized city water source for the van fixtures
• Use tank: Use water from the onboard tank for van fixtures
• Siphon fill: Fill your tank with the onboard water pump
• Pressure fill: Use the pressure from your water source to fill the tank

Does the water tank get upgraded?

This is an option for 2nd and 3rd generation Revels. At RoamRig, we’re stocking S&B 35 gallon oversize water tanks. If this is something you’re interested in, let us know.

Can you install an exterior fill port?

Some people prefer to have an exterior fill port so they do not need to open their back doors to fill the tank. It is not standard practice for us to do this since we don’t like to cut holes in bodywork (it’s a corrosion risk). However, if it is something you want, it is possible to add on 2nd and 3rd generation Revels. Talk to your installer for details.

Will I still need to winterize my plumbing?

Yes. Our plumbing system does NOT have any active freeze protection (e.g. line heating). You should still plan to winterize your system when appropriate. Learn more about winterizing here.

It should be much easier to winterize because our upgrade simplifies the plumbing with fewer connections and pipes. To winterize, either use RV antifreeze or blow out the system with a compressor. There's really no getting around one of those winterization procedures for any system.

Will this affect my heating system?

No, this will not affect your heating system. During this upgrade we’re unable to do any other work that's unrelated to RoamRig upgrades, including anything that touches the glycol system.

I have already upgraded some or all of my plumbing, does that make this cheaper?

Nope. This is a full bespoke system. It would likely cost us more to integrate portions of our kit with your existing work and we wouldn’t be able to warranty the partial upgrade.

Can I do the upgrade myself? 

Currently, this is not available as a DIY kit and we are not selling the RoamRig valve individually. In the future, we might make this available as a kit (after we ramp up installation by dealers). If that happens, kits will be available in our online store.

Will you just replace the plumbing under the bench seat?

No. We are only offering full plumbing overhauls.

Can you do the plumbing upgrade on other kinds of vans/RV’s?

No. We’ve specifically designed this overhaul to work with Winnebago Revels.
